CORCAS Head Receives Parliamentarian from Ruling Party in Mexico

The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met on Monday, January 13, 2020, with Carmen Bautista Pelaez, member of MORENA Party (Movimiento Regeneración Nacional), in power and president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Mexico and Morocco.

During this meeting, Corcas chairman gave his hosts a presentation on the latest developments in the conflict over the Sahara and its different stages.

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid highlighted the contribution of Sahrawis in the conception of the autonomy project, which was proposed by the Council and presented by the Kingdom in 2007 to the United Nations.

It is this project which gave rise to the launch of political negotiations under the aegis of the UN and it is also this project which was hailed by the international community as being a courageous Moroccan initiative, before being cited by all UN resolutions as being realistic and credible.

 Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, CORCAS Secretary General and member Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat attended this meeting.

The president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Mexico and Morocco is visiting Morocco from January 10 to 17, 2020, with a senior delegation.
