CORCAS Chairman receives president of Foreign Affairs and Trade Committee at Irish parliament

The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received on Thursday at the Council’s headquarters Pat Breen, president of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade at the Irish parliament, which is currently on a visit to the Kingdom January 29 February 1st, 2015.

The meeting, which was attended by Dr. Maouelainin Bnkhalihna Maouelainin, CORCAS Secretary General, and CORCAS member, Moulay Ahmed Mghaizlat, tackled the Sahara issue, the history of the conflict and ongoing UN-led negotiations after Morocco's initiative in 2007, to find a final and just solution to the conflict by giving broad autonomy to the Sahara region under Moroccan sovereignty.
 
Khalihenna also discussed the latest developments in the Sahara issue at the national level during the current year and open "crucial" projects for the future of the southern provinces announced by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the anniversary of the Green March, 2014, namely the advanced regionalization and developmental model of the southern provinces.
 
For his part, Pat Breen praised talks made with CORCAS chairman, describing them as "very fruitful and constructive", and also praised the level of relations between Morocco and Ireland.
