Laayoune, 2nd international festival "Rawafid Azawan" November 14-17

The city of Laayoune houses from on November 14-17 the second edition of the international festival "Rawafid Azawan" to be held this year under the theme "Lights in the Sahara and rhythms of the world."

Organized at the initiative of the "Synergie Sakia El Hamra" Association and the wilaya of the region Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra, the festival will see the participation of 20 troupes consisting of more than 200 Moroccan and foreign artists, some of whom are internationally renowned.

This cultural event, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Agency for the promotion and Economic and Social Development in the Southern Provinces and the elected councils, is an event open on other cultures , as well as being an opportunity to promote local culture and obtain international influence.

The palais des congrès and Méchouar and Umm Saâd spaces at the town of Laayoune and Al Massira of the city of El Marsa will host during the festival local artists and others from different countries with diverse culture and diversified musical rhythms. 

Along with concerts, a tent of poetry will be held in this festival, as well as singing competitions, arts and Hassani poetry.

At a press conference Saturday evening in Laayoune on the programming of this second edition of the festival, organizers said that this edition would be open on schools at the level of cultural competitions to encourage young people under 16 years of creativity and enable them to show their artistic and cultural talents.

"Rawafid Azawane has become a meeting place among the national festivals based on the values of authenticity, tolerance and openness.

This edition also provides an opening to the Moroccan artists residing abroad and will host celebrities such as Samira Bensaid and Saber Roubaâi.

About 300 Moroccan and foreign artists attended the first festival, held last year on July 20-29.
