Celebration of hassani poetry at Tan Tan moussem

The Tan Tan inhabitants who learn by rote hassani poetry, make no secret of their thirst for more metric forms. some of them believe it is the true soul of the Sahara inhabitant. 


 


The organizers of Tan Tan Moussem decided to devote programming of the 4th edition of this festival to storytelling through which will be celebrated poetry in general and hassani poetry in particular.  

In this context, a competitive poetry reading has been scheduled during this edition, in space known as "the tent of poetry" so that poets can put forward their rhythmic and metric abilities when declaim their rhyme and show their relationship with society and their worldview. 

On this occasion, these poets stressed that "hassani poetry is a major part of their creative and social life and that of the inhabitants of the region in general."

For their part, organizers have said that the moussem represents an opportunity to renew this experience for residents of southern provinces, visitors to this moussem and fans of this kind of poetry.

Moreover, many poets in the region participating in this contest, expressed a strong desire to upgrade the level of this competition by offering listeners stories about advanced hassani poetry through its various creative, human or social events.

According to some researchers, the Saharan population relied on hassani poetry to collect information and record acts about the inhabitants, since poetry has played, along with folk tales, a big part in the filing of history and highlighted the values and concerns of society.

Hassani poetry, the language which describes society, is not only a means of communication to convey and exchange literary views, but also a source of wisdom and communication between generations, add researchers. 

This literary genre sung by individuals or groups, remained the most widespread cultural means to inform society.

In addition, if the Sahara culture has been saved from extinction thanks to of hassani poetry that has played an important role in the recording of important events that have shaped contemporary society.
