According to the Argentine media, "the central axis" of the royal speech focused on "the state of relations with neighboring Algeria and their consequences on the peoples of the region, as well as on the development and integration of Africa.


The Sovereign deplored "the media and diplomatic tensions" that affect relations between the two neighboring countries and that "harm the image of both countries" in international forums.


The Argentine agency also stressed that "without accepting blame, nor holding the current Algerian leadership responsible for the situation, HM King Mohammed VI recognized that both governments are politically and ethically responsible for the continued closure of the borders since 1994.
