The American decision recognizing the full and entire sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara marked a major turning point which heralds better prospects in terms of promoting peace, stability, investment and economic integration throughout the region, noted leading Italian political scientists, academics and journalists.

The American decision to recognize the full and entire sovereignty of Morocco over the whole of its Sahara inaugurates "a reinforced momentum in favor of a realistic and lasting political solution based on compromise in the framework of autonomy," said Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita in a column published Wednesday by the magazine Jeune Afrique.

Peruvian MP Martha Chavez Cossio affirmed that her country is called upon to support Morocco in the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, noting that the Kingdom is an ally of Peru in a "complex region".

The U.S. decision to recognize the sovereignty of Morocco over the Sahara obliges the other parties to resume negotiations to reach a solution within the framework of the sovereignty of Morocco, underlines, Monday, Spanish daily newspaper "ABC".
