The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday held consultations in New York on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, in the presence of the UNSG Personal Envoy for the Sahara Horst Köhler, who briefed the Council members on his latest efforts to relaunch talks.

Morocco’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Omar Hilale, sent on Thursday letters to the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and to the members of the Security Council, to inform them that "the European Parliament adopted, on January 16, 2019, in Strasbourg, the Exchange of Letters on the Agriculture Agreement between Morocco and the European Union (EU), by an overwhelming majority of 444 votes in favor, 167 votes against and 68 abstentions".

Morocco-EU fisheries Agreement Effective Throughout National Territory
The chairman of the Moroccan-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) Abderrahim Atmoun welcomed Wednesday the adoption of the fisheries agreement by the European Parliament's Committee, saying that "its application is effective over the entire national territory ".
