Security Council reaffirms support for Ross' efforts, SC President

Members of the UN Security Council (SC) have unanimously reiterated their support for the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Sahara, Christopher Ross, the president of the council for this month told the press on Thursday in New York.

UN Security General Ban Ki-Moon recommended to the Security Council the extension of the mandate of the UN mission in the Sahara (MINURSO) for a further period of one year until April 30, 2011.

Guinea-Bissau withdraws recognition of so-called 'SADR' and supports autonomy

The Republic of Guinea-Bissau decided on Tuesday to withdraw its recognition of the so-called 'SADR'.The announcement was made in Rabat by Guinea-Bissau's State minister and Presidential advisor, El Haj  Dahaba, following a meeting with Morocco's Foreign minister, Taib Fassi Fihri.
