Khoubz laftir is different from the usual bread in the sense that it is prepared without salt, sugar or yeast. Only barley mixed with water. This mixture is put aside until forming a paste. After, which it is taken to a traditional furnace or buried in a clean hole above which a small Fire is set.
Once Khoubz laftir is withdrawn from the oven, it is soaked in meat sauce. Khoubz laftir soaked in meat sauce is considered as a healthy meal.
