EU attaches great importance to UN-brokered talks on Sahara, Vanackere

The European Union attaches great importance to the UN-brokered talks on the Sahara, said, on Monday in Brussels, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Steven Vanackere.

During a joint press conference with Morocco's Foreign Minister, Taïb Fassi Fihri, following the 9th session of the EU-Morocco Association Council, Vanackere underlined that "the EU is in favor of solving this conflict" and advocates negotiations under the aegis of the UN.
"We have chosen to support and back the negotiation process," the European official stressed.
